FLOWFORMS NEW ZEALAND |
Flowforms are beautiful artistic sculptures which
are also ecological 'machines' treating water effectively. Flowform surfaces bring water
into a figure-of-eight, rhythmical flowpath ... hence 'giving water the heart to move'.
Oxygen, polishing, rhythm ... efficient super-streams which are also beautiful sounding
water sculptures perfect for anywhere there are people.

SCHUMACHER COLLEGE |
Schumacher College is an
international centre for ecological studies. Based in southwest England, the College
welcomes course participants from all over the world.
Schumacher College was founded in 1991 upon the twin convictions that the world view
which has dominated Western civilisation has serious limitations, and that a new vision is
needed for human society, its values and its relationship to the earth.
Through interdisciplinary studies, the College aims to explore the foundations of that
new vision. At the College, a unified residential education involving physical work,
meditation, aesthetic experience and intellectual inquiry creates a sense of the wholeness
of life.

ART AND THE EARTH |
"The object of our game with nature is not to win, but to keep on playing."
Anonymous
Art and
the Earth from the Paul Getty Institute
consists of six photoessays that survey art created to represent the interdependency of
people within their environment. People make things special in the practice of their
everyday lives using materials that are available around them. Mythic metaphors
of plants, animals, and a geography of place can be found in most cultures throughout the
world. Studying the ecological value of place in human life is one way to understand how
people shape the earth and in the process are affected by their creative endeavors to
control, design, and interact within their environment. |
ERICA FIELDER |

with lifestyle and the natural sciences in order to encourage a heartfelt shift to
ecologically ethical practices and integrated relationships between humans and the wild
blue-green Earth. Her art includes ritual, performance, mapping and object making which
highlight empathy, connection and belonging.
